Omutu Harbour Rehabilitation and Upgrade

The Southern Group Harbours Project rehabilitated and upgraded Omutu Harbour, improving the safety and reliability of access for people, freight, fuel and essential supplies to Mitiaro.

Delivered through the Southern Group Harbours Project, the rehabilitation and upgrade of Omutu Harbour improved Mitiaro’s access to freight, fuel, passenger transport and essential supplies. Later wharf-improvement proposals in the national infrastructure plan are separate and are held pending confirmation.
