Manihiki Airport Runway Improvement

Reconstructing and surfacing the runway for safer, more reliable and climate-resilient access.

The project is designed to strengthen Manihiki’s role in Northern Group aviation and support safer, more affordable access. Its scope includes rehabilitation and reconstruction of the runway, surfacing the existing coral runway, measures to reduce climate-related overwash, a temporary vessel landing site for heavy machinery and materials, and realignment and reconstruction of approximately 195 metres of adjacent road.
